1.00pm - Mary Kelly

We are a four-piece that blend scream vocals with anything that doesnt work.

We are unconventional, ugly and noone is going to like us. Band practise is a laugh and we enjoy playing together so we will keep doing it.

1.45pm - Fake The Attack !

Since 2002, from the age of 11, Callum has been in various bands with regularly changing members. In 2005 James joined as the drummer and with a bass player the 3 piece band became 'Jaded'.

While on holiday in Cornwall in August 2006 and attending the Unleashed Festival at Watergate Bay, Callum, James and Guy decided to start a new band and with theaddition of Matt in September 2006 'Fake The Attack' was formed.

With a new enthusiasm for music and a desire to succeed, the band began writing songs and rehearsing. After a few live shows they began recording with Andy Jones as engineer and producer.

The 'Fake The Attack' myspace site has attracted considerable interest and the band are now working on new songs and ideas to promote themselves and their art.

The future for 'Fake The Attack' is looking good. With support and encouragement from the fans, the band are regularly playing live shows and continue to write new material.

'Fake The Attack' look forward to seeing you at Basingstoke Live!!!!!

3.15pm - The Veygers

An advert, a mate, an online forum and we've got ourselves a band  "so what do we do now"

In Feb 2008 we had our first practice in a studio on Eastern Avenue which is incidently the name of our 3 track demo that we recorded a few months in.

12 months on and Andy, Bobby, Chris and Luke are doing good with the completion of a 7 track EP called 'Sound Off' and a name that has magnatised people to watch what happens next!

So do we want to be rich, not really!
Do we want to be famous, who cares!
Do we want you to take notice, yes because were calling time!

Thank you for support in 2008! 2009 has got some more promise!

4.00pm - [boydidgood]

Boydidgood are a four piece band from Reading who do not use synthesizers. Since forming in 2007, they have released 3 EPs and played many gigs. People say they sound like Queens of the Stone Age, Biffy Clyro and The Arctic Monkeys. In 2007 they played the NEC Arena in Birmingham. In 2008 they headlined 3 festivals, were interviewed for some radio programs and printed press, enjoyed local and national radio play and some general rocking was evident. The band recorded their brand new EP in 2009. One week later Tom Robinson from BBC 6 Music asked to play one of the new tracks on his show. The band have been confirmed for more festivals in 2009. There are rumours of a tour in Europe in 2009. For too long synth pop, unimaginative metal, dubious emo and general musical failure has ruled the airwaves. Boydidgood feel the return of good music is necessary and imminent. Gats out, safety off.

4.50pm - Her:Enemy

After releasing a slew of DIY EPs and touring America, Her:Enemy returned to England to find their passionate fans and a record deal waiting for them. Gaining praise from the most respected of rock publications - both nationally and internationally - their debut album 'Hold On To Something' is a triumph. Describing themselves as 'just a song and dance band' - you can expect to hear catchy songs with hooky riffs from this powerful trio, all delivered with a grin from likeable frontman Craigy.

5.40pm - The Perishers

Rising from the ashes of several local bands in the unglamorous surroundings of Basingstoke, Hampshire, The Perishers bonded over a mutual love of sixties pop, loud guitars and acoustic loveliness. Despite building a strong local following, the band realised their music would only grow as their experiences did and relocated to London, eventually settling in Monkees style chaos to live out their Kinks fantasies in the otherwise salubrious surroundings of Muswell Hill. Several years playing the well worn path from The Dublin Castle to The Borderline helped them fine tune there musical chops and attract the attention of several of the music industries A&R men .

With this interest giving them extra impetus, the band entered the studio with Adam Whittaker (Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Lily Allen, Doves, Starsailor, The Damned, Julian Cope, Hot Club De Paris) to begin sessions for what would be their debut album .

'Hurts Like Hell', released in Sept '04 on Head Records was made up of numerous guerrilla sessions recorded over an 18 month period and incorporated the bands already strong melodies with futuristic production. With the single 'Sunchild' picking up plays from the likes of 6music and BBC London the band had established themselves in the shark infested waters of the music industry.

After successful sales of 'Hurts Like hell' on a very limited promotional budget the band decided to go back to their roots and further explore their love of acoustic guitars and classic pop. Inspired by ex Creation band Arnolds 'Barn Tapes' & Ronnie Lanes 'Anymore For Anymore' the band retired to a field in the Hampshire countryside (once again with Mr Whittaker at the controls) to cut the basic tracks for what was to be an acoustic mini album live in the great outdoors. The Band were so pleased with the resulting recordings that the mini album idea was shelved and plans began to formulate for a new album proper. With follow up sessions in Adams new studio the songs were finished off and two new songs added in keeping with the original idea of a simple no frills approach.

The resulting album 'Teepee' released in Oct 2006 was the bands most complete work to date, combining the finer elements of artists such as The Jayhawks, Teenage Fanclub & Ronnie Lane as well as the bands love of the new breed of song smiths such as Josh Rouse. Well received, the album helped the band expand their already loyal fanbase a well as showcasing a new side to their music.

After the Teepee album, with a mission to produce songs that not only had more depth, but would stand up against the music that made them pick up guitars all those years ago, the band retreated to their London rehearsal room and record collections to begin their next phase. Re-connecting with the sixties pop & psychedelia that they all loved, as well as the bands that first inspired them such as Ride & Teenage Fanclub , the band began to write a new batch of songs, the manifesto being that if they were to record another album then every track had to fulfil each members high standards. Songs were worked on and discarded, and after a 12 month period the band were ready to come out of hibernation and begin demo'ing their new material.

Autumn 2008 will see the band returning to the studio with Mr Whittaker to record what promises to be their best and most accomplished album to date.

Junkyard Scientists are a soul, funk, rock & hip-hop inspired outfit like nothing else around. Formed in Reading and London in 2007, the Junkyard sound is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Jamiroquai.
